Ogre, vocalist for the experimental industrial band Skinny Puppy, whose heroin addiction in the 1990s was widely reported, seems to be taking an introspective look at that life. That?s not to say that Ogre or Skinny Puppy have softened. No, the man who told the music press that Marilyn Manson had swiped his image still takes pride that the band produces its hardcore signature sound.
But now, Ogre talks about the extra confidence he and his band mates have 25 years after they caught the music world?s attention with innovative multi-layered compositions, acoustic percussion, distortions, trend-setting production and riveting stage shows.
Ogre seems almost humbled as he looks back at his career and how fans have again embraced the band since it regrouped in 2000.
“That is the biggest nod to me and the biggest compliment I could ever imagine,” he said.
