Teen killed before crash

Fairfax County police have determined that a 19-year-old woman found dead in her crashed car was killed before the vehicle went off the road.

Vanessa Pham’s car was found overturned in a wooded area off Route 50 on Sunday, police said. Authorities say she died from trauma to her upper body, and an autopsy on Monday confirmed she was dead before the crash.

Would-be robber shot and killed in Forestville

A maintenance man at a Forestville apartment complex shot and killed an intruder, Prince George’s County police said.

A masked man broke into the maintenance man’s apartment around 9 a.m. Monday, authorities said. The maintenance man grabbed his firearm and shot the intruder, killing him. It’s believed two other robbers then fled.

Police and prosecutors are investigating the shooting as a possible case of self-defense, officials said.

Teen dies from Md. crash

A 17-year-old Gaithersburg boy has died from injuries sustained during a car crash, police said.

Justin Xavier Dorsey was riding in a Toyota Echo driven by another 17-year-old, when the car crossed the center lie of River Road near Darnestown and slammed into a Mercedes-Benz C63 on Sunday evening.

Dorsey died from his injuries early Monday morning. The driver of the Mercedes and three other boys in the Toyota, including the driver, are expected to recover.
