Clinton promises LGBT crowd she will end 'conversion therapy'

Hillary Clinton vowed Sunday to put a stop to "conversion therapy," the practice by which a person undergoes counseling in order to change their sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual.

"We're going to end the harmful practice of so-called conversion therapy!" she said at a campaign stop at a gay-friendly club in Wilton Manors, Fla. "LGBT kids don't need to be cured of anything. They just need to be accepted and embraced and respected."

The Democratic nominee also vowed to push for tougher gun control regulations, and cited a mass shooting this year that targeted a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla.

"We are going to keep guns from falling into the wrong hands so that what happened in Orlando can never happen again," Clinton vowed.
