Vivek Ramaswamy entered Ohio‘s governor’s race with nearly every advantage a Republican could hope for: President Donald Trump’s endorsement, tens of millions of dollars in campaign spending, and a state that has steadily shifted to the right.

Yet, four months from Election Day, the race remains far tighter than many Republicans expected, especially since Trump carried the state by 13 points in 2024.
