Jenny Sanford, the ex-wife of former Gov. Mark Sanford, confirmed to the Associated Press that her former husband was caught leaving her house at night using his cell phone as a flashlight. The incident occurred on Feb 3.

Sanford is running for the 1st District congressional seat in South Carolina.

“I am doing my best not to get in the way of his race,” Jenny Sanford told the AP. “I want him to sink or swim on his own. For the sake of my children I’m trying my best not to get in the way, but he makes things difficult for me when he does things like trespassing.”

Jenny Sanford’s attorney filed the complaint, which reportedly noted that Mark Sanford had “entered into a pattern of entering onto plaintiff’s property.”
