The world's largest annual gun show is held in Las Vegas every year, and the organizer of 40th anniversary of the event scheduled for January is not discussing changing the venue after yesterday's mass shooting.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, which hosts the "SHOT Show," put this notice on its show webpage:

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of all those killed and injured in the criminal attack in Las Vegas.

In an additional comment to the press, the group said, "Out of respect for the families of the victims and the law enforcement process, we are not going to comment or participate in media requests made relating to this attack."

The annual Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show is so big that it is the fifth largest trade show Las Vegas hosts. Next Jan. 23-26 SHOT Show is scheduled to be held again at the Sands Hotel and Casino.

Last year's show attracted more than 65,000 industry and media attendees. It is not open to the public. It is the biggest display of gun-related and outdoors merchandise, some 6.5 million pounds according to a Fox report this year.
