Man injured in police-involved shooting in Fairfax County

A 37-year-old man was shot by Fairfax County police Tuesday, authorities said.

The shooting occurred after police responded to a report of a suicidal person on the 6600 block of Thurlton Drive around 4 p.m., Fairfax County Police said.

Few details of the shooting were available, but the man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

No officers were injured during the incident. The officers involved in the incident are being placed on administrative leave.
