Hillary Clinton panned Donald Trump’s debate performance Tuesday morning and said it had nothing to do with his microphone.
“Anybody that complains about the microphone is not having a good night,” she said. Trump had complained after the debate that his microphone was “defective.”

Clinton told reporters on her campaign plane that Trump had insulted America with his characterization of the country.
“He talks down America every chance he gets. He calls us names. He calls us a third world country,” Clinton said. “That’s not who America is.”
Clinton is widely viewed as the winner of the first debate. A CNN instant poll found 62 percent of viewers thought she won the debate compared with just 27 percent who said the same of Trump.
Although Trump began the evening with a spirited discussion about trade, one of his strongest issues, his performance broke down after Clinton took him to task for unsavory aspects of his business record.
Clinton expressed confidence in her perceived victory Tuesday morning, telling her traveling press corps she was “excited” about the state of the race.
