CHICAGO (AP) — Authorities say Chicago police officers have been involved in five shootings since the start of the holiday weekend, including two where people died.

A male was fatally shot Saturday around 6:30 p.m. on the South Side. Police say he allegedly fit an offender’s description and pointed a gun at officers. Officers shot him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
