NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Carnival Cruise Lines said Sunday an engine room fire had disabled the cruise ship Triumph about 150 miles off the Yucatan Peninsula with 3,143 passengers and 1,086 crew members on board.

A statement on Carnival’s website said nobody was hurt and automatic extinguishers put out the fire before it could spread from the aft engine room. The company said the U.S. Coast Guard had been notified and was monitoring the situation.
