Former White House staffer Sebastian Gorka is traveling to Europe with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is embroiled in the controversy concerning President Trump’s phone call with Ukraine’s president.
Gorka, a fierce Trump defender who was born to Hungarian parents in London and has U.S. citizenship, was spotted getting into a State Department van that is headed to Joint Base Andrews, according to an NBC News reporter.
Pompeo’s official schedule says he is traveling to Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Greece for the next week. Gorka is traveling with him as a member of the press. He has a radio talk show that airs on Salem Radio Network.
Gorka also tweeted a selfie of himself boarding Pompeo’s plane, saying his destination was Rome.
It’s not quite Air Force One.

Europe is increasingly coming into focus as reports come out about Attorney General William Barr asking foreign officials, including from Italy, to aid his review of the origins of the Russia investigation.
Earlier in the day, Pompeo was seen at the White House for a previously scheduled meeting, which he took soon after it was reported he was part of the controversial phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25.
As Democrats ramp up their impeachment inquiry, Pompeo was subpoenaed on Friday by three House committees for documents related to the president’s relationship with Ukraine and has until Oct. 4 to produce them. Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, was also subpoenaed by House committees on Monday for documents related to the whistleblower complaint that launched the inquiry.
