Ivanka Trump on Wednesday called out critics of her father’s businesses at the grand opening of the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.
“As a daughter, this political season has been one of the most interesting journeys of my life. But each day I’ve heard critics attempt to discredit my father’s business,” said Trump, who is executive vice president of development & acquisitions at her father’s company, the Trump Organization.
She said the redevelopment of the Old Post Office is a “stellar” example of private industry taking over an underutilized government space. She said despite her father’s frequent absences on the campaign trail, the successful remodeling demonstrates her father Donald Trump’s capabilities as a leader.
“A good sign, a sign of a good leader, is how hard his or her team works when the boss is not there,” she said.
