At least one lawmaker is not waiting with bated breath for the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report.
Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., who has been highly critical of Mueller’s investigation from the outset, suggested burning the report that details Mueller’s conclusions in the investigation into President Trump and Russian efforts to get him elected.
“I don’t really care what the Mueller report says because the Mueller special counsel should have never been appointed,” Nunes told “Fox & Friends” on Sunday. “We can take any part of this investigation and we can show you how fraudulent it is.”
“You know, we can just burn it up,” he said. “I mean, it is a partisan document, so there is going to be a lot of calls for that.”

Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, also called for a separate investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation, and said Republicans plan to make criminal referrals against Justice Department and FBI officials but were waiting for the Mueller report before doing so.
Mueller gave his report to Attorney General William Barr on Friday, and Barr is expected to brief lawmakers on the special counsel’s “principal conclusions” by Sunday evening.
