Nineteen new speed cameras have been set up around the District.
D.C. police say the cameras are now in effect, but speeders will receive warning tickets through the end of September. Motorists will begin receiving citations and fines on Oct. 1.
Police said the cameras were placed at high-crash sites. A list of new speed camera locations, and the posted speed limit in those areas, can be found here. A full list of speed camera sites in the District is here.
Speeding fines in D.C. range from $75 to $250.
