President Obama had a little fun with Eagles keyboardist-guitarist Joe Walsh’s infamous predilection for destroying hotel rooms.
“This is the White House,” Obama said during a ceremony honoring the Eagles and the rest of this year’s Kennedy Center honorees on Sunday. “Michelle and I are about to leave and as I have said before we want to get our security deposit back.”
Walsh documented his trashing of hotel rooms during the 1978 hit “Life’s Been Good.”
“I live in hotels, tear out the walls, I have accountants pay for it all,” Walsh sang.
Walsh was being honored on Sunday alongside band mates Don Henley, Timothy Schmit and the late Glenn Frey.
The other honorees this year are Mavis Staples, James Taylor, Al Pacino and Martha Argerich.
