Two people have died after a Beechcraft 90 airplane crashed into an automobile shop’s parking lot in Marietta, Ohio, on Tuesday morning.
The plane was en route to Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport in Wood County when it crashed into the Pioneer Buick GMC dealership parking lot at 7:15 a.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed in a press conference at the scene.
The pilot and a passenger died when the plane crashed, state patrol said. No one on the ground was injured.
Eight cars were reportedly burned due to the crash, according to the Marietta Times. The plane is equipped to carry six to 10 passengers.
State patrol said earlier that they were responding and that people should avoid the area. Police from Reno, Marietta, and Williamstown continue to be on the scene.
