MSNBC's Katy Tur criticized for tweeting then deleting that Kim Jong Un is 'brain dead'

MSNBC anchor Katy Tur is facing criticism for announcing that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was “brain dead.”

“I’ve deleted that last tweet out of an abundance of caution,” Tur, who once compared the job of journalists to that of firefighters, wrote after posting that Kim was “brain dead,” citing unnamed U.S. officials. “Waiting on more info. Apologies.”

“Pretty big deleted tweet there,” Stephen Miller wrote.

“MSNBC reporters are brain dead,” media analyst and author Mark Dice tweeted. “That’s been confirmed.”

“So is he brain dead or not?” Daily Wire contributor Harry Khachatrian asked.

Some of Tur’s followers did support her decision to delete the tweet.

“Completely understandable given the circumstances,” one user wrote to Tur.

The North Korean despot is reportedly in “grave danger” following surgery, but it has not been confirmed that the 36-year-old is dead or brain-dead as of 1 p.m. EST Tuesday.
