Kamala Harris to participate remotely in Amy Coney Barrett confirmation hearings

California Sen. Kamala Harris is reportedly expected to participate remotely in the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, which will begin on Monday.

Harris will participate from her Senate office in the Hart building in Washington, D.C., according to Fox News.

Harris, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, said in a tweet that Senate Republicans were not taking public health into consideration by moving forward with the hearings.

“By moving forward with Supreme Court confirmation hearings tomorrow—less than 2 weeks after members tested positive—Chairman Graham and Senate Republicans are endangering the lives of not just members and our staff, but the hardworking people who keep the Senate complex running,” Harris said.

Healthcare and reproductive rights are expected to be topics discussed during Monday’s hearing.
