Jimmy Kimmel mocks Democrat for eating fried chicken to ridicule William Barr

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel mocked a Democratic congressman for eating Kentucky Fried Chicken at a committee hearing Thursday morning to ridicule Attorney General William Barr for canceling his testimony.

“Wow, what a sick burn that is,” the comedian said sarcastically Thursday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” “Trump’s gonna win again with stuff like that, isn’t he?”

Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., brought a bucket of fried chicken to a House Judiciary Committee hearing where Barr had been scheduled to testify about about how he handled the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report.

Barr canceled his appearance over concerns about the format of questioning set by the Democratic majority. Barr would have had to answer questions from staff lawyers as well as lawmakers under the format.

Cohen referred to the attorney general as “Chicken Barr” while holding up a figurine of a chicken.

Other late-night comedians also joked about the chicken incident.

“Dude, if you want KFC, just order KFC. It’s fine,” “Late Night” host Seth Meyers said. “You don’t need to tie it into the hearing.”

“This was clearly a stunt because a bucket of fried chicken isn’t going to get Bill Barr to come and testify, but it will get Donald Trump to come and see Congress. He saw that KFC bucket and was, like, fuel up, Air Force One. We’re going to Congress!” “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah joked.
