House of Cards actress Robin Wright wakes up every morning “shocked” by President Donald Trump, despite the dramatic storylines on the Netflix political thriller.
“You’d think after five years of doing this show, I’d be immune to the shock,” the “House of Cards” star told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview airing Tuesday afternoon.
“I’m shocked every morning I wake up, aren’t you?” she continued. “It’s just pulverizing.”
Wright plays First Lady Claire Underwood in the Netflix show, which will stream its fifth season May 31. The show centers around the complex lives of Underwood and her husband, President Frank Underwood.
The actress said the show is “running out of ideas” because of Trump.
“Trump is trumping us. We’re running out of ideas at this point,” Wright said. “He’s stolen them all.”
