A $26,000 reward is being offered for anyone who provides information that leads to the suspects in an armed robbery of a Montgomery County Chili’s restaurant.

Chili’s announced Tuesday that it was offering a $25,000 reward in the May 26 robbery at the restaurant at 11428 Rockville Pike. Crime Solvers is offering a $1,000 reward.

The robbery happened at about 11:40 p.m., when two men — one armed with a revolver, the other with a long gun — broke into the store by breaking a glass side door with a hammer, Montgomery County police said. They ordered store employees into the kitchen freezer, made a manager to open a safe, then forced the manager into the freezer.

The suspects assaulted two employees with the hammer, police said. One suffered a hand injury; the other suffered a face injury.

Police believe the same robbers also broke into a Bob Evans restaurant in Prince Frederick on May 20.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County police robbery section at 240-773-5103 or Cime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477) or 240-773-8477. Tipsters can also send a text message to CRIMES (274637).
