Man gets 8 years for convenience store robbery

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — A southwestern Illinois man has been ordered to spend eight years in federal prison for robbing a convenience store last year.

Twenty-five-year-old Jahrastafar Jamal Farmer of Fairview Heights also was sentenced this week to three years of post-prison supervised release and must pay more than $200 in restitution.
