Actor Johnny Depp is reportedly dating his former lawyer, Joelle Rich, almost two years after she represented him in his failed defamation suit against U.K. newspaper the Sun.
The two were confirmed to be dating by Page Six, which is also reporting that Rich is a mother of two who was formerly married. It is unclear if her divorce has been finalized.
Rich was photographed on at least two occasions at his most recent trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard in Fairfax, Virginia. She was not among the lawyers representing him but was sitting in the courtroom instead.

Rich represented Depp in his libel suit against the Sun for its reference to the actor as a “wife beater.” U.K. Judge Andrew Nicol ruled in the Sun’s favor, finding that at least 12 of the 14 incidents of domestic violence perpetrated against Heard were “substantially true.”
Depp would go on to win his defamation case against Heard in the United States, with different representation. Heard successfully proved a single defamation claim against Depp and has since appealed the others.

The actor’s American representation, attorney Camille Vasquez, had to dispel rumors that she was dating Depp during his Virginia trial. Vasquez will represent Depp again during the appeal process, with Heard making changes to her original representation.
