President Joe Biden called Fox News’s Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b****” on Monday for asking a question about inflation.
Biden’s hot mic moment came after delivering remarks outlining the White House Competition Council’s steps to cut rising prices in recent weeks.
Doocy asked the president if he “thinks inflation is a political liability,” prompting Biden to turn to members of his Cabinet and joke that “more inflation” is a “great asset.”
“What a stupid son of a b****,” Biden added offhandedly. The White House’s official transcript of the event, released later Monday evening, includes the exchange.
Monday marks the latest in recent days that Biden mocked a question from a reporter. Monday’s exchange came directly after he declined to answer a question from CNN’s Kaitlan Collins about Russia’s potential invasion of Ukraine.
“The only reason I don’t like doing this is because you never report on why I called a meeting here,” Biden stated. “This is really important, but I had a very, very, very good meeting. Total unanimity with all the European leaders.”
Biden mocked Fox News’s Jacqui Heinrich for asking a “stupid question” last week.
