LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — The Rosa Hart Theater will be getting a facelift now that the City Council has approved spending $3.8 million on the facility.
The American Press reports (http://bit.ly/cseYHv ) the 40-year-old theater is on the grounds of the Lake Charles Civic Center.
Mayor Randy Roach says the work is a high priority for the city.
A federal hurricane recovery grant will provide $3 million, and the remaining $800,000 will be paid for through the city’s capital outlay budget and facility renewal fund.
Lake Charles architect David Moss will manage the project, which he said will consist of full renovation of the lobby, restrooms and main theater in addition to other upgrades.
