“The Thriftstore Mystery Paintings” by “Blaster” Al Ackerman ? a series in acrylic that decorate the verso of Ackerman?s first spoken-word album, “I am Drunk,” for Stewart Mostofsky?s EHSE label ? are now on display for ArtScape. The backstory is that Mostofsky, a longtime Ackerman fan, commissioned the artist to decorate album covers with original acrylic paintings. Oh, and Ackerman has been working in mail art, poetry, prose and performance since the early 1970s, so you know these works are going to give off a bit of the psychedelic spirit. Through August 1. 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Free. Gormley Gallery, Fourier Hall, College of Notre Dame of Maryland, 4701 North Charles Street, Baltimore. 410-532-5582.
