Washington Times: 95 percent chance Trump picks Pence

The Washington Times is reporting that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, respected and well-liked by conservatives, has a “95 percent probability” of being selected as Donald Trump’s running mate.

Trump and Pence are set to appear together at a rally in Indianapolis at 7:30 pm ET Tuesday. Speculation is rampant that Trump will announce Pence as his VP pick at the event.

The Times quotes Republicans close to both the Trump campaign and Pence as sources for the article. The piece says one one of the “tipoffs” came a few days ago when Indiana House Speaker Brian C. Bosma sought advice from a constitutional lawyer on running for governor.

Pence would help reassure Republicans who are skeptical about Trump’s conservative credentials. Many fear that he is a recent, and potentially unreliable, convert to their cause.
