Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Bill Clinton are gaining criticism after it was announced that they would hold a conversation together on women’s empowerment.
The Clinton Foundation announced in a Tuesday press release that the two would be hosting a “one-on-one conversation” on Friday about the impact of COVID-19 on women and “empowering women and girls in the U.S. and around the world.” Social media erupted, and people slammed the move, given the accusations against Clinton and the way he has treated women in the past.

Dr. Steven W. The vice president’s office did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
Friday’s virtual conversation will be held in partnership with Howard University, Harris’s alma mater, as part of the 13th annual Clinton Global Initiative University meeting.

The weeklong event is supposed to bring together “600 students from across the world who have made Commitments to Action — new, specific, and measurable initiatives that address pressing challenges,” according to the Clinton Foundation. Other speakers will include Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Stacey Abrams, and Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser.
