Tuesday was filled with primary contests across the country, but the big news came out of Mississippi, where six-term U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran escaped Chris McDaniel in the state’s runoff election. Cochran narrowly defeated his Tea Party challenger and will now seek his seventh term in November.
