ST. LOUIS (AP) — In an April 5 story about a lockdown at the Menard Correctional Center in southern Illinois, The Associated Press erroneously reported that one state Department of Corrections employee supervises 50 inmates in the prison knitshop and that searching the inmates there is implausible. The shop area is staffed by three workers, including a security officer and two workshop supervisors, and a team of 16 security officers is responsible for searching the inmates as they enter and leave the area.
