White House: Video of United passenger removal is ‘troubling’

President Trump is unlikely to call for a federal investigation into the removal of an United Airlines passenger that has sparked controversy, despite considering video footage of the incident “troubling.”

“I think there are plenty of law enforcement to review a situation like that. Let’s not get ahead of where that review goes,” press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters on Tuesday. “It was an unfortunate incident [and] it was troubling to see how it was handled.”

The viral video showed Chicago airport security forcibly removing a man from an overbooked flight to Kentucky. The man, who claimed to be a doctor, was dragged through the aisle of the airplane only to return to his seat later with scratches and blood on his face.

“I don’t think anyone looks at that video and isn’t a little disturbed that another human being was treated that way,” Spicer said. “Watching another human being dragged down an aisle, watching blood on their face after hitting an arm rest — I don’t think there’s any question that there could have been another circumstance where this was better handled.”
