Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie blasted the behavior of President Trump’s legal team.
During an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Christie said the conduct of Trump’s legal team has embarrassed the country, rebuking them for alleging a national voter fraud conspiracy on television but not making a voter fraud case in court.
“What’s happened here is, quite frankly, the conduct of the president’s legal team has been a national embarrassment,” Christie said. “Sidney Powell accusing Gov. Brian Kemp of a crime on television, yet being unwilling to go on TV and defend and lay out the evidence that she supposedly has. This is outrageous conduct by any lawyer. And notice, George, they won’t do it inside the courtroom. They allege fraud outside the courtroom, but when they go inside the courtroom, they don’t plead fraud, and they don’t argue fraud.”
“Listen, I’ve been a supporter of the president. I voted for him twice. But elections have consequences. And we cannot continue to act as if something happened here that didn’t happen. You have an obligation to present the evidence. The evidence has not been presented,” he added.
“Yes,” Chris Christie tells @GStephanopoulos when asked if it’s time for President Trump to stop challenging the 2020 election results, adding that the president’s legal team has been a “national embarrassment.” https://t.co/9HKDetYpa5 pic.twitter.com/zuGivUyqYo

In an interview with Newsmax Saturday night, Sidney Powell, a member of Trump’s legal team, said she plans to “blow up” Georgia with a lawsuit she described as “biblical” as they seek to overturn the results of the election in several swing states. Powell made loaded accusations that top Georgia state officials were paid to participate in a voter fraud conspiracy with Dominion voting systems, though she declined to provide evidence in the interview. Dominion said it “categorically denies false assertions about vote switching and software issues with our voting systems.”
Trump’s legal team released a statement after Powell’s interview announcing they filed a petition for a second recount in Georgia. “We are focused on ensuring that every aspect of Georgia State Law and the U.S. Constitution are followed so that every legal vote is counted. President Trump and his campaign continue to insist on an honest recount in Georgia, which has to include signature matching and other vital safeguards,” the statement said.
