Man arrested after allegedly shooting woman who tried to steal Nazi flag

An Oklahoma man is behind bars after police say he shot a woman multiple times in the back who was trying to steal his Nazi flag.

Alexander Feaster, 44, was arrested after the incident occurred in the small town of Hunter, which has a population of 165 people, on Sunday. Garfield County Sheriff Jody Helm said that when they responded to the scene, they discovered a 26-year-old woman lying in a ditch who had been shot by Feaster three to five times with a 5.56 mm rifle.

According to NBC News, Helms said investigators are unsure whether the woman was dared to steal the racist display or if she did so to make a political statement.

“There’s conflicting information,” said Helms, who noted that the town is well aware of Feaster’s Nazi flags.

“I know the whole town doesn’t like him,” Helm said.

One of Feaster’s neighbors told WKRN that in addition to flying Nazi flags, he is known to walk around town wearing a black outfit with a red armband featuring a swastika.

Feaster is being held in jail in lieu of $500,000 bail on the charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and shooting with intent to kill.
