Rex Tillerson wants to ‘curl up in a ball’ some days

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson joked Thursday that some days he feels like he needs to “curl up in a ball.”

Tillerson, who is currently in Geneva, made the remark during a visit to the Swiss city when he came upon a sculpture in a park. The sculpture appears to depict two people wrapped in an embrace and curled up to form a ball.

“Yeah, some days I feel like I need to do that,” Tillerson said, laughing, while examining the statue. “Curl up in a ball.”

Tillerson is currently on the last leg of a six-day trip to seven countries. In addition to visiting Switzerland, the secretary of state also traveled to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and India.

While in Geneva, the secretary of state met with staff and families at the U.S. mission in Geneva, as well as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Tillerson’s tenure as secretary of state has been marked by tension with President Trump, and speculation about how long he will remain in the role. He has reportedly clashed with President Trump repeatedly, and in July, Tillerson threatened to resign, NBC News reported.

The secretary of state also called the president a “moron.”

But Tillerson attempted to quiet whispers about his future with the administration earlier this month, when he said in an impromptu news conference he has never considered resigning. He dodged questions about whether he called Trump a moron, but the State Department said that never happened.
