RNC adds staff in 11 states where Trump trails Clinton

The Republican National Committee added 392 new staffers in 11 states where Donald Trump trails Hillary Clinton in the polls.

The RNC’s new staffers will set up shop in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. Clinton leads Trump in RealClearPolitics’ polling average of every one of these 11 states.

“The RNC entered this cycle more prepared than any party in history and has built a nationwide, permanent field program for the entire GOP ticket,” said Reince Priebus, RNC chairman, in a statement. “The RNC is committed to sending Donald Trump to the White House and solidifying our majorities in Congress.”

The RNC also said it will open 98 new field offices in the same 11 states where Trump trails Clinton in the polls. The GOP said it has more field staff than at any point in the 2012 cycle.

The RNC’s formal decision to increase its field operation comes with 66 days remaining until Election Day.
