A liberal group suggested that voters write in University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban in Tuesday’s special Senate election.
American Bridge created a 15-second digital ad for Facebook that instructs voters how to write in a candidate on their ballot. The sample choice: Crimson Tide championship-winning Nick Saban.
The group is spending $10,000 in the hopes of targeting 140,000 “persuadable” Republicans away from GOP candidate Roy Moore, according to McClatchy.
“Roy Moore’s disgraceful actions make him unfit for public service,” Bradley Beychok, president of American Bridge, said in a statement. “Alabama voters have a chance to stand up for moral values on Tuesday, and as Coach Saban says, ‘Character is what you do when no one else is watching.’”
Last week, American Bridge provided a truck to blast audio of first daughter Ivanka Trump’s comments denouncing Moore outside President Trump’s rally in Florida, including her declaration that “there’s a special place in hell for people who prey on children.”
