D.C. man gets 33-year sentence for murder of witness

A D.C. man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison for killing a prosecution witness in a case against the man’s brother.

John Foreman, 20, was sentenced in the October 2008 shooting death of 19-year-old Arthur Gale.

Foreman’s brother, Maurice Foreman, was arrested after a Charles County shootout in July 2008. Gale and others told authorities that Maurice Foreman possessed a firearm, and John Foreman believed Gale was the prosecution’s main witness against his brother.

John Foreman was convicted of first-degree murder and weapons offenses by a D.C. Superior Court jury in May.
