LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — CVS Caremark Corp. has opened its first Arkansas store.

The Woonsocket, R.I.-based pharmacy formally opened its store on State Line Avenue in Texarkana on Monday.

Mayor N. Wayne Smith welcomed the company, saying the corner the store occupies had been vacant for a time.

The company is a competitor to Walgreens, which has dozens of stores in Arkansas.

The Texarkana CVS will be open 24 hours.
