UPDATE 1:53 p.m.: The man who was struck by a Metro train midday Friday apparently was trying to kill himself, the latest suicide attempt on the transit system. Preliminary witnesses accounts to police say that the man intentionally put himself into the path of the train, according to Metro. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Rockville station reopened at 1:19 p.m. but trains are still sharing a single track through the area, meaning continuing delays for riders.
