A Fox News employee defended his colleagues following criticism from President Trump regarding the network’s latest presidential poll.
“I must defend my colleagues who do the @foxnewspoll,” Brian Gaffney, the vice president of long-form programming at the network, tweeted Friday. “I’ve never worked with a more non-phony, non-hating group of straight-shooters. They would be the first to agree @realDonaldTrump could well win in November. But you can trust these #’s are a legit snapshot of the race today.”
Former Vice President Joe Biden has a 12-point advantage over Trump, up from an 8-point lead last month, according to a Fox News poll released Thursday. Fifty percent of registered voters surveyed said they would vote for the Democrat, and 38% said they would support Trump if the presidential election were held now.

In response to Biden’s lead increasing in that poll, Trump called it “phony” and said the survey was “done by the same group of haters that got it even more wrong in 2016. Watch what happens in November. Fox is terrible!”
The president has repeatedly bashed Fox News for its polling and criticized some of the network’s on-air personalities who have been critical of his presidency.
Fox News rarely responds to attacks from the president. The network did not immediately return a request for comment regarding Gaffney’s defense of his colleagues.
