How many people have died from the virus at Yosemite?

Two people who were staying in the Signature Tent Cabins in Yosemite National Park have died, while two others infected in June are expected to survive. The park warned 1,700 people who stayed in the tent cabins this summer that they may have been exposed to hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, an illness spread by rodent feces, urine and saliva. Almost 200 people die each year in the parks, although about 300 million visit. Just last week, a grizzly mauled a man to death in Alaska’s Denali National Park. Last month, two people died when their personal watercraft collided in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Utah. And an 18-year-old fell to her death on her first day at work at Yellowstone in June.
