Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., bashed President Trump for referring to her as a “congressman” rather than a “congresswoman” in a note he sent her to commemorate her birthday.
“My birthday wish is for Democrats to take back Congress and address the #CultureofCorruption and horrible policies hurting American pouring out of the White House,” Jayapal tweeted Thursday. “P.S. It’s CongressWOMAN Jayapal.”
Oh, how nice that @realdonaldtrump sent me a birthday note.

The note in question was addressed to “Congressman Jayapal,” wishing her a happy birthday from Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
“Happy Birthday! I am glad to join your family, friends, and colleagues in celebrating this special occasion,” the letter signed by the president reads. “Melania and I send our best wishes for your year ahead.”
Jayapal has been an outspoken critic of Trump in the past and claimed it was “absolutely unacceptable to see the racism and the hatred coming out of the White House” when she announced in January she would not be attending Trump’s first State of the Union address.
She was arrested in June during a demonstration outside the Hart Senate Office Building in response to the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance policy to prosecute all illegal immigrants, which led to the separation of thousands of children from their parents. She was arrested along with more than 500 women at the protest.
