Approximately 250 Islamic State fighters near Fallujah, Iraq, were killed early Thursday following multiple airstrikes by American forces, a senior U.S. defense official told Reuters.
“There was a strike on a convoy of ISIS fighters trying to leave a neighborhood on the outskirts of southern Fallujah that we struck,” the official told Fox News.
More than 40 vehicles were destroyed in the attacks.
The attacks come one day after three terrorists killed more than 40 people and injured 140 others in suicide bombings at the airport in Istanbul, Turkey.
