Roger Stone’s attorney is demanding the Democratic National Committee preserve its database servers and electronic equipment, referencing the DNC lawsuit filed last week against the Trump campaign, Russia and WikiLeaks.
“In the unlikely event that your politically motivated lawsuit survives the pleading stages, we demand that the Democratic National Committee (‘DNC’) immediately preserve the DNC’s database servers and electronic equipment,” Stone’s attorney, Robert Buschel, wrote in a letter Monday to Michael Eisenkraft, an attorney representing the DNC.
Buschel said the letter had two purposes: To inform the committee they plan on investigating the DNC’s claims that Russians hacked their servers, and to demand they preserve equipment to defend Stone against various claims made against him in their new lawsuit.

President Trump touted on Twitter Friday that the lawsuit could be an opening to the committee’s server.
“Just heard the Campaign was sued by the Obstructionist Democrats. This can be good news in that we will now counter for the DNC Server that they refused to give to the FBI, the Debbie Wasserman Schultz Servers and Documents held by the Pakistani mystery man and Clinton Emails,” Trump wrote.
The DNC announced last week that it would be suing the Trump campaign, Russia, and WikiLeaks, alleging that the trio conspired to tip the scales of the 2016 election against Democrat Hillary Clinton.
