Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard says it’s time for the country to move on after the Mueller report’s release, since the special counsel’s office is not taking legal action against President Trump.
The Hawaii Democratic congresswoman told Fox News that she appreciates the work done by special counsel Robert Mueller’s legal team, including its swatting away attempts by the Trump administration to curb the investigation. Gabbard added, though, “The conclusion that came from that Mueller report was that no collusion took place. Now is the time for us to come together as a country to put the issues and the interests and the concerns that the American people have at the forefront, to take action to bring about real solutions for them.”
Gabbard added, “I don’t think that we should defeat Donald Trump through impeachment. I think it’s really important for us, in this country, to come together and have the American people vote to take Donald Trump out of office in 2020.”

That stance is a marked contrast from Democratic presidential rivals. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said that she supports impeaching Trump after reading the Mueller report.
“I know people say this is politically charged and we shouldn’t go there, and that there is an election coming up, but there are some things that are bigger than politics,” Warren told a New Hampshire crowd last week at Keene College.
“We cannot be an America that says it is OK for a president of the United States to try and block an investigation into a foreign attack on our country or an investigation into that president’s own misbehavior — so I have called on the House to initiate impeachment proceedings.”
Former Housing Secretary Julián Castro, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, told CNN that he also finds impeachment proceedings against Trump “perfectly reasonable.”
