Omarosa Manigault-Newman, former director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison, covertly recorded audio of President Trump, a new report says.
According to the Daily Beast, a source verified that they have heard audio Manigault-Newman recorded of Trump. Several sources familiar with the situation said that the recordings captured everyday conversations, but that Trump’s voice seemed to be included.
The report comes as Manigault-Newman is working on a forthcoming book called “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House.” The book is scheduled to be released later this month.
Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen also recorded conversations with Trump, including one where they discussed a scheme to purchase rights to the story of a former playboy model who claimed she had an affair with Trump.
The White House announced in December that Manigault-Newman was resigning from her post from the White House.
She told ABC’s “Nightline” in December that during her time at the White House, there “were a lot of things that I observed during the last year that I was very unhappy with.”
