Clinton slams Trump for seeing a personal profit in world events

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is blasting Donald Trump for remarks about how the Brexit vote would benefit his golf resort, even as stocks around the world plummeted.

The new national ad from Hillary for America will launch this week, according to a press release. The 30-second ad shows media coverage of the United Kingdom’s vote to leave the European Union and the negative impact it had on stock markets — contrasted with Trump’s remarks at Turnberry, the golf course he owns in Scotland.

“Every president is tested by world events, but Donald Trump thinks about how his golf resort can profit from them,” the ad says.

The ad also shows Trump talking about being able to buy a new speaker system for the resort as a result of the economic upheaval in Britain and around the world. “When the pound goes down, more people are coming to Turnberry,” Trump said.

Trump took to Twitter on Sunday morning to respond to the ad from Clinton. “Clinton is trying to wash away her bad judgement [sic] call on Brexit with big dollar ads. Disgraceful!” he wrote.
