Life in the White House keeps Melania Trump busy

LAS VEGAS — First lady Melania Trump pulled back the curtain on her life in the White House on Tuesday, revealing that she has special appreciation for the residence chefs.

Conservative commentator Eric Bolling asked Trump if she ever cooks for her family and allows the White House chefs to have a night off.

“I didn’t do that yet, honestly,” she said. “There are always little snacks I could prepare for our son, when he comes home late. But no, [there’s] really no time. They’re doing in the White House, they’re doing such a fantastic job. They’re real professionals, so I want to keep them.”

If she could choose any meal to share with her family, she said, “maybe spaghetti.”

Trump said her days begin early in the morning, making sure her 12-year-old son Barron gets off to school.

“Then I start working,” she said. “I’m very detail-oriented.”

Trump has 12 staffers who work in the East Wing, and she said she has another 100 who work in the White House residence. She also works closely with the White House Historical Association.

The first lady also said she recently renovated the White House bowling alley and hopes to use it more.

“I just renovated it,” she said. “It really looks beautiful. We have fun sometimes and I’m looking forward to using it more now.”
