Michelle Obama helps Chicago couple say ‘I do’

Before she travels around the country for her highly anticipated book tour, Michelle Obama helped a Chicago couple make their marriage official.

The former first lady helped Stephanie Rivkin and Joel Sircus say “I do” at their wedding Saturday in the Windy City.

In video posted by TMZ, Obama leads the bride in reciting her vows.

According to the couple’s wedding announcement in the New York Times, the bride is the daughter of Chicago’s Deputy Mayor Robert Rivkin. Her mother, Cindy Moelis, serves as the president of former Obama Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker’s charity.

The announcement made no mention of the former first lady’s role in their nuptials.

Obama will be stopping in 10 cities for 12 events from Nov. 13-Dec. 19 to discuss her forthcoming memoir, “Becoming.” Ticket prices for the events have led to fan complaints.

She is also hitting the road to encourage American to vote in the November midterm elections.
