A new overflow parking lot now is open at the Aberdeen MARC station in Harford.
The 25 additional spaces will help alleviate parking congestion on the existing lot and the neighboring communities, according to a news release from the Maryland Transit Administration.
The new lot is north of the station parking lot at the intersection of East Bel Air Avenue and APG Road.
The Aberdeen MARC Station has 188 parking spaces, and with this added capacity, commuters now have about 215 parking spaces.
“The MTA is working to provide our customers with safe and convenient places to park their cars while they ride the MARC train,” MTA Administrator Paul Wiedefeld in a statement said.
The Aberdeen MARC Station has an average daily ridership of about 220 commuters. – Therese Umerlik
